Harley Street, situated in Marylebone within the City of Westminster, is one of London’s most distinguished addresses. Developed in the late 18th century as part of the Portland Estate, its elegant Georgian terraces and stucco façades quickly attracted wealthy residents seeking refined city living. By the mid-19th century, the street became internationally renowned for medicine when eminent physicians and surgeons established their private practices here, a tradition that endures today.
Over time, Harley Street has grown into a global centre of medical excellence, housing consultants, dental specialists and clinics across multiple disciplines. Its architecture remains carefully preserved under conservation, blending historic grandeur with modern functionality. Beyond healthcare, Harley Street’s proximity to Regent’s Park, Oxford Circus and Marylebone High Street makes it one of Central London’s most desirable residential and professional districts, symbolising prestige, discretion and tradition at the very heart of the capital.

Consultation

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.

Dr Eloise Parkin, Private Dermatology Clinic, Harley Street W1G
Harley Street's Grade II-listed architecture houses some of London’s most discreet and high-performing medical practices. Dr Parkin contacted JRSL Interiors to refresh her clinic’s reception and three treatment rooms. The brief was precise: a full spray-finish repaint in neutral tones to reflect a modern, clinical calm — all without closing the clinic or disturbing patient care. The building had shared ventilation and delicate vintage plaster detailing, requiring total dust containment and ultra-quiet operation. All work had to be conducted between 10pm and 5am, with minimal residual odour, dust contamination or disruption by morning.
JRSL Interiors devised a careful step-by-step plan:
Pre-Work Survey & Planning: We inspected air circulation systems and secured permissions from building management. Every fixture — medical lighting to historical mouldings — was digitally recorded and masked.
Sound-Minimised Spray Equipment: A whisper-quiet airless spray system was selected and extraction fans with activated charcoal filters ensured no vapour lingered.
Surface Preparation: We completed fine dustless-sanding and tack-wiping of walls and ceiling areas using static-dust-control methods each night.
Layered Paint Application: We applied low-odour, Class A flame-retardant coatings in three ultra-thin layers, avoiding build-up at corners or cornices.
Final Detailing: On the final evening, joinery, door casings and service panels were hand-finished to match the sprayed surfaces perfectly.
By week’s end, the clinic appeared untouched by tradespeople — except for its newly crisp, elegant finish. The waiting area reflects a serene aesthetic with soft reflectivity under warm LEDs. Mouldings and heritage panels remained immaculate — no overspray, scent or debris. Patients arrived daily without a hint of the transformation unfolding each night.
"I needed the entire clinic repainted without closing the practice — and JRSL Interiors made that miracle happen. Every night, they arrived quietly, worked methodically and left no trace by morning. A REAL achievement - not to be taken lightly!! The finish is exceptional — the colours are calm, seamless and perfect for our medical setting. They preserved all the listed details, even around ornate ceiling roses and the new look is modern and fresh. The process was invisible. I would DEFINITELY recommend them without hesitation."
